Something to do whilst on maternity leave, there were several reasons for building Lovely NZ. Firstly I couldn't find a directory of hidden secret shops such as Alterknitives, a wool shop run out of a woman's garden studio that was just like the Liberty wool section, and Salvage – a vintage fabric shop in the empty end of Mt Eden Road.
Secondly I wanted to collect all the local craft bloggers together, interview them and create a directory of them. Lovely Blogs grew to be much more than a collection of craft bloggers and received some good press.
The Lovely concept has now grown to include lovelyshops.com with Lovely UK being launched before the end of 2008.
